Meet Paula-Peace James-Okoro an outstanding student who just won the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship to earn a Ph.D. in Clinical Biochemistry after graduating as a first-class student in Nigeria.
Paula-Peace got her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Covenant University, Nigeria. She was the best graduating student with a CGPA of 4.98 out of a possible 5.00 grade point.
After her Bachelor’s degree, she (Paula-Peace) went on to apply for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship which is a scholarship that is awarded to excellent and outstanding applicants from different countries outside the United Kingdom to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree program in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.
Paula-Peace took to LinkedIn to celebrate this great feat. In her LinkedIn post, she said “It fills me with great joy to announce that I have recently begun my fully funded Ph.D. program in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge. I was awarded the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship and a Doctoral Training Programme in Medical Research (DTP-MR).”
Also, she mentioned that her journey was not really an easy one. She said “There were moments when it felt like it was impossible to get here- uncertainties, sleepless nights and emotions. Eventually, all of the hard work paid off even better than I could have imagined.”
