Carl Stephen who is 18 years old and attended Stockbridge High School in Georgia, United States has won himself five full scholarships to the University after he became the winner of the school’s track racing competition.
He and his mom lived in a car after they were chased out from their home few weeks before his high school graduation.
Stephens narrated to Channel 2 saying “Going to schools every day, not showing it, it was a little bit hard. But I pushed through it, me and my mom.”
Stephen’s Mother, Vickie Reid, worked in her son’s school cafeteria and she said that their home was set while she and her son were at work and school respectively.
Furthermore, Stephens narrated that they came while there were at school and set all their stuff in their yard.
Even with this event, he didn’t let their homelessness affect his performance in the track competition as he broke the school record for the triple jump and set his own.
